‘Odd habit’: Saba Qamar reveals why she ‘sniffs’ people

Renowned Pakistani actress Saba Qamar, who has showcased her acting talent in both Pakistan and India, recently shared the reason behind her reluctance to wear expensive designer outfits.

In a previously recorded interview on a private TV channel's morning show, which has gone viral again on social media, Saba Qamar disclosed a peculiar habit that influences her fashion choices.

Responding to the host's question, Qamar revealed, "I have a strange habit of smelling people. Whenever someone passes by, whether a man or a woman, I instinctively sniff them. I know it's an odd habit, but I have a very sensitive nose."

She further explained that her strong preference for cleanliness is the main reason she avoids wearing costly designer clothes.

"I'm very particular about hygiene and refuse to compromise on it. Even if something is worth millions, I'll refuse it if it doesn't meet my cleanliness standards."

The actress mentioned that while many other actresses wear designer outfits on set without any reservations, she cannot do so without first ensuring they are odour-free.

"If I detect an unpleasant smell, I immediately refuse to wear the expensive designer clothes," she said.

Notable among her works are Baaghi, where she portrayed the controversial life of Qandeel Baloch, and Cheekh.

Her role in Maat further cemented her reputation as a versatile and powerful actress in the Pakistani television industry.

Qamar's ability to tackle complex characters has made her a household name, with her dramas consistently drawing high viewership and critical praise.

Yasir Hussain reveals his public proposal to Iqra Aziz at the Lux Style Awards was staged

While appearing  as a guest on Ahmed Ali Butt's popular podcast, actor and director Yasir Hussain shared some previously undisclosed details about his famous proposal to actor Iqra Aziz Hussain at the Lux Style Awards in 2019. While appearing as a guest on Ahmed Ali Butt's popular podcast, actor and director Yasir Hussain shared some previously undisclosed details about his famous proposal to actor Iqra Aziz Hussain at the Lux Style Awards in 2019.

Yasir began by explaining that his relationship with Iqra had already reached a significant milestone before the public proposal. The couple had involved their families in their relationship discussions long before the dramatic event at the awards show.

He then revealed that the public proposal was not entirely his idea. It was orchestrated by Frieha Altaf who was keen on creating a moment of love and romance that would go viral. The Lahore Se Aagay actor also disclosed that he was given a script for the proposal, penned by the talented writer Fifi Haroon. He confessed that his nerves got the better of him on that big night and he didn’t end up following it.

Like any other bold public display that ends up on social media, this too had its fair share of critics and supporters. After Iqra accepted the proposal, the couple embraced and shared a kiss on the cheek – a moment that sparked outrage amongst netizens. One commented, “How could she let him do that? Even married couples don’t do that in front of everyone even though they have the right to.”

Another didn’t like the way Yasir phrased the proposal wrote, “Yasir Hussain thinking his proposal to Iqra Aziz is her ‘third award of the night’ is peak misogynist behaviour we have come to expect from him. She is successful and popular without his help. Her hard work won her those awards.”

Despite the online criticism, they had plenty in their corner including actor Hamza Ali Abbasi. “How can you find faults in a man asking a woman for Nikkah? Because he hugged her or kissed her on the cheek? Stop it! Instead celebrate the good,” he stated before congratulating the couple.
