Maya Ali feels 'blessed' to be working with Shoaib Mansoor

It was earlier announced that renowned director Shoaib Mansoor will be working on a feature film with Maya Ali and Emmad Irfani. The film was expected to go on the floor in December.

Now, Ali has shared a candid picture of herself with Mansoor, marking the beginning of their venture together, with the two appearing engulfed in the project. Taking to Instagram on Thursday, the Teefa in Trouble actor wrote, "First day on the set of #ABG, blessed to have gotten a chance to work with the great Shoaib Sahab."

Ali's cohorts also shipped the maven and the starlet’s affiliation. "Aaaah! Best of luck Maya! You’re working with the best," commented Mahira Khan, who’s worked with Mansoor numerous times. "Best of luck Maya," added Minal Khan. "All the best Maya," remarked Zara Noor Abbas.

At present, not much is known about the film. But it will mark the first time Irfani plays a prominent role in a feature. The Jalan actor had expressed his excitement over the prospect of working with Mansoor earlier.

“I'm really excited and looking forward to working with someone of the stature of Shoiab sahib (sir). To me, it is an opportunity of a lifetime as he is a colossus when it comes to modern Pakistan cinema,” Irfani had told The Express Tribune. Irfani also shared how he felt about working with Ali, “Maya is a very good actress and I'm sure we will make a good team under Shoaib Mansoor’s captaincy.”

Ali was last seen in Parey Hut Love alongside Sheheryar Munawar, while, Irfani made a cameo in 7 Din Mohabbat In. Mansoor’s last film was Khan and Haroon Shahid's Verna.

It’s not the best time to panic, points out Maya Ali. As the number of Corona victims rise in different parts of the country, people are struck by panic. Amidst the ongoing chaos, the ‘Teefa in Trouble’ actress shared a post on her Instagram, urging everyone to stay calm, and not to lose hope.

We are all going through a difficult time, but we shall come out stronger! Insha Allah

People will meet and offer prayers once again together. Please don’t lose hope or create panic, “waqt agar waisa nahi raha to aisa bhi nahi rahe ga” Insha ALLAH. This is the time when we have to become One as a nation and adhere to the government orders. Wishing you all good health and safety on this day. Please stay inside your homes to save others’ lives.

Let’s all hope for the best and keep praying. Stay at home, practice respiratory hygiene, look out for others and stay strong. This too shall pass!

I had no support: Maya Ali reflects back on showbiz journey

Maya Ali may have delivered one of the biggest Pakistani films of last year but that doesn’t mean the Teefa In Trouble star has forgotten her roots.

In a recent Instagram post, the actor spoke about her very first day on the sets of a TV show and how far she has come since then. “I still remember my first day on television, when I had no support. Maya Ali was just a name. But I was ambitious; I had so many dreams so many thoughts and I knew I had to make my dreams come true,” she wrote.

“I had no idea whatsoever about any fans, not even about social media. Then one day, I went to the market and two girls came to me and asked, ‘Are you Cinderella?’ and I said, ‘No, I am Maya.’ After sometime, I realised that they were talking abut my drama serial,” she went on. “I felt so good and shy at the same time. As time passed and I focused on my acting career, people began to love my work and also criticised it but I was open to all the feedback.”

Maya continued, “Alhamdulillah, today when I saw this post which one of my fans tagged me in, I got goosebumps. My whole acting journey started to play out in front of my eyes.”

The Mann Mayal actor further shared, “I can’t be more thankful to Allah for all the love people shower me with. Thank you for making it happen, thank you for being with me in my bad and good times. Sometimes, I get down and feel low but all your love gives me new hope.

” Maya concluded the note with gratitude and wrote, “Thank you all for your support! I have no words to decide what I should call this but yeah, love you, my squad.”
