Audiences warmly welcome Manto;long queues seen outside cinema houses

KARACHI: The movie Manto, based on the life and times of author Saadat Hasan Manto, was released across the country on Friday.

According to reports received from across the country, audiences warmly welcomed the movie Manto. Long queues of viewers were seen outside cinemas to watch this movie. The audiences paid tributes to short story writer Saadat Hasan Manto after watching his work on big screen. They said that such films should be produced in the country in future too.

Shahid Nadeem penned the story of Manto while Meesha Shafi, Zaib, Javed Bashir and Ali Sethi contributed as playback singers. Songs were written by Ghalib, Shiv Kumar Batalvi, Majeed Amjad and Muhammad Hanif.

Mahira Khan, Nimra, Sania Saeed, Nadia Afghan, Sohaey Abro, Sawera Nadeem, Yasira Rizvi, Hina Binaat, Arjumand Rahim, Faisal Qureshi, Rehman Sheikh, Shamoon Abbasi, Humayun Saeed, Irfan Khoosat, Akbar Subhani, Ali Sheikh and Adnan Jaffar starred in Manto. Sarad Sultan directed the film and also played the role of Manto.
