KARACHI: After taking social media by storm with the motion posters and teaser of Atif Aslam’s soulful voice, the first song from the much-anticipated film Superstar released on Thursday.

The track is titled Bekaraan which means infinite love. Love was definitely in the air throughout the video. Written by Shakeel Sohail, the song is composed by the talented duo of Azaan Sami Khan and Saad Sultan.

Bekaraan is crooned by Ali Sethi and Zeb Bangash, featuring the lead couple, Mahira Khan and Bilal Ashraf, all clad in black. The song sets the tone for what to expect from the star-studded film, be it in terms of music or extravagant sets. The single is shot in a classy theatrical setup with chandeliers hanging, moving frames and the pair dancing right through the audiences heart. The chemistry the two create is magical and undoubtedly breathtaking. It won’t be wrong if we call them the most good looking on-screen couple of the Pakistani film industry.

Khan’s look will remind her fans of her Humsafar days, especially the rain dance in her black Peshwas. Asharf, on the other hand is all decked up to give men a run for their money. Watch out, boys!

Bekaraan is a romantic song but it is nothing sleazy or cheesy. The romance element is depicted with delicacy and care despite the song being shot in one location. It speaks of the desires of a couple who is madly in love with each other and are longing to be together despite all the odds. Khan and Ashraf breathe soul into the vocals with their expressions, passionate embraces and dance lifts that seem to come naturally to them. The actors are so light on their foot.

Directed by Ehteshamuddin, Superstar will hit cinemas on Eidul Adha this year.

  1. Build your self-esteem by recalling all the ways you have succeeded, and your brain will be filled with images of you making your achievements happen again and again. Give yourself permission to toot your own horn, and don't wait for anyone to praise you. Special For Mahira Khan ( King of lollywood )
