Ahmed Ali Butt slams male actors posing as female, calls it disgusting

Pakistani actor and rapper Ahmed Ali Butt recently took to Instagram to share his two cents on the kind of content being shown on media these days. Butt, who played a double character in the hit film Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2 - including that of a woman named Maina – shared how he feels disturbed by the same. “Why is, all of a sudden, everyone making male actors look like women and vice versa?” he questioned in an Instagram story on Monday. “It’s disturbing… Stop!” he added.

While many people seemed to agree with his post, some also took to bashing him for said opinion, owing to his work that may fall in the same category. One user on a popular social media platform commented how the post was “much needed” while another wrote, “Just because on one has given him attention, it’s disgusting,” referring to Maina. Earlier, when the film Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2 released, Butt’s portrayal of Maina was lauded extensively by viewers. Talking to a local publication, Butt had even said that when the writer Vasay Chaudhry had informed him of the role, he was ‘absolutely up for it’ and had always wanted to do such work.

Butt will next be seen in his first lead role in Nabeel Qureshi and Fizza Ali Meerza’s Fatman. The film will present family relations and emotions and the problems faced by an obese man in his life. “This film could change the perspective of people towards superheroes,” he has said.

'Mera Jism Meri Marzi' supports making prostitution legal: Ahmed Ali Butt

Actor Ahmed Ali Butt believes that the slogan Mera Jism Meri Marzi is a Western campaign that is being exploited locally. In a recent Instagram story, Butt talked about how the slogan that otherwise goes against the country’s cultural values is being promoted in Pakistan ahead of the Aurat March on Sunday.

“I have even less sympathy for people who exploit the so-called Mera J Merey XYZ”. Its a Western campaign which supports, make abortion legal, abolish ban on organ sale and make prostitution legal,” he said in the story.

Butt then went on to talk about how it was said to see how people are following such “funded” movements. “When it comes to women rights, Islam has the most rights rights and respect for women. It’s sad to see how we forgot that and follow a trend and funded movements,” he said.

Contrary to Butt’s view point, the organisers of the Aurat March have on many occasions clarified that the slogan is about bodily autonomy and independence for women.

“‘Mera jism meri marzi’ means that women want bodily autonomy and independence. To be able to have the right to choose in matters concerning their bodies. To choose what to wear without fear of rape. To choose who to marry. To choose whether they want to have children, how many, and when they want to have them. To not have their husbands rape them because they feel entitled to their bodies after marriage. To have access to mobility in their day-to-day lives for work and for leisure. To not have their bodies maimed in the name of having their sexuality controlled,” a recent Instagram post from the Aurat March account read.

Ahmed Ali Butt - the new superhero in town!

Nabeel Qureshi and Fizza Ali Meerza have recently announced that the duo will be producing two flicks in the coming year. The first project as we know is ‘Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad’ starring the gorgeous Mahira Khan opposite the dashing Fahad Mustafa.

The other one is a thriller action-comedy titled ‘Fatman’. The main lead of Fatman is none other than and the rightly deserved, everyone’s favorite Ahmed Ali Butt.

Ahmed Ali Butt expressed his excitement over playing the lead in Fatman through an Instagram post that was captioned:

 AlhumdulilAllah it’s official. My next film and my first as a lead with these crazy people Nabeel Qureshi Fizza Ali Meerza Filmwala Pictures FATMAN. Looking forward to making a great film with these great creative filmmakers and hope you’ll all love it as much as I love the script… Inshallah see you next year

In a recent interview, Butt revealed that the film highlights the issue of body shaming, something our society takes lightly. We couldn’t agree more! Body shaming is one topic that we as a society need to put a full stop on.

 In an earlier interview, Fizza shared that the plot revolves around the relationship between a man and his son.

So, we are expecting a light-hearted comedy with a slightly different take on superheroes.
