The song Tu Kya Janay from Balu Mahi touches the heart

Balu Mahi is all set to release on the 10th of February and we can’t wait to watch the movie since it is shot on such a magnificent scale. However, till the cinema opens its door to the audience, we will just have to do with the trailers and songs of the film. The most recent song released by the makers of Balu Mahi is Tu Kya Janay, and we have helplessly fallen in love with the track.
Composed and sung by Sahir Ali Bagga, the beautiful melody of the song will stick to you from the first time you hear it. The deep lyrics of the track further complement the melancholic tune, and we feel this could be one of the best songs of the movie.
The highlight of the song is the exquisite video which is shot in scenic locations like Attabad Lake and the Karakoram Highway, making the song a visual treat. In the video, Ainy and Osman Khalid Butt seem to be on a journey to reach a destination. They are quiet throughout the video and we see them passing each other gloomy looks, while the song plays in the background. Judging from the video, seems like Ainy and Osman are going through a tough phase in their relationship.
Want to know what else happens? Well, you just have to wait till the movie releases. Till then, enjoy the teaser of the song.

Balu Mahi trailer is everything we had hoped for

Good news for Ainy Jafri fans! The model-cum-actor is finally making a comeback to the film industry, after a gap of two whole years. And what’s more, she’s doing it with none other than Osman Khalid Butt!
A short teaser for the duo’s upcoming rom-com Balu Mahi came out a little over a month ago and now, the complete trailer is here and it looks amazing.
The trailer starts with Balu (Butt) crashing the wedding of his lady love – at least, he thinks it’s her. Mistakenly, he ends up confessing his feelings to Mahi (Jafri), who is in ghoonghat. The bride-to-be then asks a baffled Balu to run away with her as she does not want to get married
Similarly, it shows some of the most beautiful  locations across northern Pakistan, where Balu and Mahi can be seen dancing around.
Javed Sheikh also makes an appearance, as does supermodel Sadaf Kanwal, who is possibly Balu’s first love interest.
Balu and Mahi then come face to face with the bad guy, which is being played by none other than Shafqat Cheema.
Directed by veteran TV serial director Haissam Hussain, Balu Mahi is a travel film which attempts to portray Lahore and northern Pakistan on a larger-than-life canvas and celebrate romance in a unique manner. It has been produced by Sadia Jabbar, written by Saad Azhar and the music is composed by Sahir Ali Bagga.

Sadaf Kanwal reveals her role in Balu Mahi

Balu Mahi is fast making its way to our must-watch list and Sadaf Kanwal's recent disclosure is a big part of it.
In conversation with Images, when asked about her part in the upcoming film, the model said: "My role is of a fun woman who is the head of a company. She's glamorous but also blunt, for example. she'll be dressed to the nines and end up making a gaffe."
She added that her character, Sharmeen, is an authoritative businesswoman who's also 'mazaydar'.
Delving into further details of her role, Sadaf said, "She likes this man and travels with him throughout the journey [in the film]. The two share a romantic relationship and soon fall in love and my character tries to spend as much time with him as possible as the man she loves is very unpredictable and confused."
The Lux Style Award winner shared that she had a lot of memorable moments during the shoot of the film, one of them being when she shot her first scene with director Haissam Hussain.
"It was my first day at the shoot in Hunza and it was the first time I was facing Haissam and the camera, the entire team was standing in front of me, " she started.
"Haissam says to me, 'It's time for your shot, the first scene,' so I said, 'okay.' I got ready and went [to the set]. I was tensed because; it's Haissam, he's such a big director and, whether I'll remember my dialogues or not. I didn't know what'd happen because Ainy [Jaffri] is very good and she had been working [on the Balu Mahi shoot] for the past few days and this was my first experience. But when I did my scene Haissam paused and then everyone clapped," Sadaf recalled.
They were impressed by the first-timer and said she did a "really good job."
In an earlier interview the model had expressed her excitement at being a part of the project. "Many models gave the audition but I was the luckiest to be roped in. Osman Khalid Butt, Ainy Jaffri and I play lead roles in the movie. I'm quite comfortable acting in this film and I'm not nervous. I've previously done a drama serial but it's yet to go on air," she said.
Balu Mahi features Osman Khalid Butt, Ainy Jaffri, Sadaf Kanwal and a cameo appearance by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. It is set for release on February 10, 2017.

While the first poster of the film bore an uncanny resemblance to the 2015’s epic Bollywood saga Bajirao Mastani, the teaser looks very similar to Bin Roye‘s Tere Bina Jeena.

Which hot onscreen couple will feature in Haissem Hussain's new film Balu Mahi?

When award-winning director Haissem Hussain and producer Sadia Jabbar announced they were making a film a few months ago, it generated a lot of excitement amongst the director’s legions of fans.
Although he was a smaller part of one of this year’s biggest movies, Bin Roye, he managed to leave his mark with the fabulous pre-interval climax. After making blockbusters like Dastaan , Aunn Zara, Kuch Pyaar, Aik Nayee Cinderella, Ishq Ghumshuda and cult classics such as Kuch Pyar Ka Pagalpanand Akbari Asghari, he has raised the audience's expectations of any film he makes.
Well, we're letting the secret out of the bag:
The word from the production house is that Haissam's film will be titled Balu Mahi, has a fresh young vibe and is geared to a young audience and families.
The question is who will be Balu and who will be Mahi?
Hussain has worked with crème de la crème of the Pakistani entertainment industry: Humayun Saeed, Imran Abbas, Mikaal Zulfikar , Ahsan Khan and Osman Khalid Butt. He has directed no less than three serials with Fawad Khan and his list of heroines is equally impressive, ranging from Sanam Baloch, Mahira Khan, Humaima Malik, Aamina Sheikh, Saba Qamar to Maya Ali .
Speculation was rife a year ago when popular actress Nadia Jamil announced she was writing a script with him for a cast that included Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan and Sanam Baloch. However, that project seems to be on the backburner and an announcement for Balu Mahi is imminent.
While a lot of fans are taking to Twitter to push for their favourite jodis like Osman Khalid Butt-Maya Ali, Fawad Khan-Sanam Baloch or Fawad-Mahira Khan or even Imran Abbas-Humaima Malick or Ali Zafar-Humaima Malick, the director remains tightlipped.
Insiders at the production company also suggested that Balu Mahi is a fun romantic comedy. It makes sense then that fans have been suggesting Mikaal Zulfikar-Sanam Saeed or Mikaal-Sanam Baloch, conjuring up images from the former jodi's highly successful UFone ads or the latter jodi’s superb chemistry in Kuch Pyar Ka Pagalpan.
While these super hot pairs are easy on the eyes, something a little new, a little different seems to be the order of the day.
While the production house keeps tantalizing fans with hints about shaking things up and a novel combination, we are waiting with baited breath to see what happens next.
The Pakistani film industry is booming, as everyone seems to be signing a film every other day. However, with time there will be an inevitable thinning of the herd as only the talented and lucky survive. It will be interesting to see what a proven director/producer duo like Haissem Hussain and Sadia Jabbar bring to the silver screen.
