Animated movie The Donkey King is on a roller coaster ride and it’s not coming slow anytime soon! After breaking more than a few records in its first week, the Aziz Jindani film is now off with a strong second weekend. The Donkey King has made record earnings – highest ever – for a Pakistani movie on second weekend and in animated segment, it’s has come out as a winner with a wide margin!
According to Entertainment.Pk, the animated production of Geo films has earned a massive Rs3.75 crore on its second weekend screening and in total Donkey Raja stands high at Rs7.75 crore in terms of box office business.
This is 36% more than the movie’s earnings on its first weekend, and the weekdays are still going strong for the political satire based animation.
While all previous predictions of the movie doing well and strong on the box office have proven to be true, movie pundits now claim that this Jan Rambo starrer movie will expectedly score a total of Rs10 crore (or more) in its total span of screenings. If that happens, it will be the first time for a Pakistani animated movie to do so locally; earlier 3 Bahadur 2 made a total of Rs8 crore in its overall run.
We are nothing but happy for our animated movie doing so well, this goes out to show how much potential this genre has in Pakistan and if given right content it’s ought to grow by lengths!
