Sana Fakhar will play SP Chaudhry Aslam's wife in upcoming biopic

After the funny Wrong Number 2 Sana Fakhar is joining a film with a very different vibe.

The actor is currently shooting for upcoming film Chaudhry: The Martyr, a film based on the life of SP Chaudhry Aslam. Fakhar will be playing the wife of the SP.

Speaking to Images, she revealed that her decision to join the film was when she saw how "Impactful" the character was.

"After working [in the industry] for so long, I'm in that stage where I need to focus on my scripts which should be meaningful for me as an actor," said Sana. "The character I have in Chaudhry has a lot of variation. Being an actor with experience, it's difficult to find something that challenges me."

"I also joined the film when I learned that this is based on a true events. I love the thought of playing a real character and showing a story like that... There are very few films that are female oriented or give women a meaty role. This film has a strong female character and raises many points revolving around that ."

SP Mohammad Aslam Khan, better known as Chaudhry Aslam, was known as Karachi's toughest cop. With 30 years of service in the Karachi police, he was known as a symbol of success for many. He was assassinated in January 2014.

 About the rest of the cast, Fakhar said, "We have Shamoon [Abbasi] and Yasir Hussain but we also have folks who aren't actors and are playing real people."

Fakhar is referring to Tariq Islam, a DSP who carried many raids alongside Chaudhry Aslam himself, who is taking on the role of the titular character.

 "This is a serious movie which touches upon many important subjects and shows a different side to the true story we've all heard of."

For now there is no release date for the movie as according to Fakhar, "Right now we're still shooting. I hope it goes well as I'm doing my best. Whatever project I do, I give my 100% and leave the rest to Allah."

Chairman Sindh Censor Board to Take Strict Action For Films Screened Without Censor

This Eid ul Azha four films ,including three Pashto and one Punjabi, were illegally screened in various cinemas of Sindh. When this came in the knowledge of the Chairman Sindh Censor Board Khalid Bin Shaheen, strict action was taken. Legal notice have been sent to these cinemas and the Secretary Cultural ministry was also apprised on this action.

Talking to another channel, Chairman Sindh censor board Khalid Bin Shaheen revealed:

 “We have a very strong board and we have taken this very seriously.We have issued legal notice. We have asked to seal these cinemas and ban them Moreover distributors of these films are blacklisted. We have begun to probe into the matter.

” A meeting was also set with the cultural ministry and the chairman assured that they will be dealing with this matter with an iron hand. When asked that this kind of illegal screening has taken place before as well yet no action was taken.Why so?

“This has happened for the first time during my tenure. This is why we have taken this matter very seriously.

Even if the Pashto films were given approval from KPK, which is not in my knowledge, and they are assuming that by-passing the 18 amendment they won’t get the films censored from Sindh board then we will handle this very seriously.” Talking about the legal repercussion an illegal screening has he informed that as per law they can be sentenced to jail for up to 3 years and a fine of RS 1 Lacs.

 “We have begun proceeding on this matter legally as well.”

Superstar Becomes Highest Grossing Film for Bilal Ashraf

Bilal Ashraf is the only film actor of the current age who started with films and has never featured in any drama. Actor has only stuck to silver screen and that is working out well for the star as his boxoffice stats are exceedingly impressive.

Bilal Ashraf debuted with Janaan which turned out to be a huge HIT and collected well over PKR 160 million. Just a year later, Bilal Ashraf starred in mega budget Yalghaar. Yalghaar couldn’t emerge a box office success but the film went on to rake in massive numbers.

Yalghaar wrapped around PKR 170 million roughly. Later that year, Bilal Ashraf was lead in Rangreza which turned out to be a low grosser with a business around PKR 20 million.

Before the release of Superstar, Yalghaar stood tall as the highest grossing film for Bilal Ashraf but now into its second Week Superstar has overtaken the numbers of Yalghaar. As per estimates, Superstar has roped in around PKR 175 million till now and now stands high as highest grossing film for Bilal Ashraf.

Going by current trends, Superstar will also become first film for Bilal Ashraf to hit PKR 200 million.

'Baaji' and 'Laal Kabootar' gear up to be screened at DC South Asian Film Festival

'Baaji' and 'Laal Kabootar' gear up to be screened at DCTwo recent Pakistani films are going places, all the way to Washington DC, to be exact. Baaji and Laal Kabootar have both made it to this year’s DC South Asian Film Festival (DCSAFF), which is scheduled to take place next month. DCSAFF is one of the most celebrated film events on DC’s cultural calendar, showcasing the best in alternative cinema from Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka.

Baaji, starring Meera and Amna Ilyas, is all set to have a screening at the upcoming festival. It will be showcased in the afternoon of September 21 and the glamourous program will run from September 20-22, 2019.

“We are very fortunate to have Baaji shown at the Washington DC South Asian Film Festival on September 21, at noon,” read a recent post on the film’s official Facebook handle, along with details of the festival.

The Saqib Malik directed film recently bagged two awards at the Mosaic Film Festival in Canada, so it seems like Baaji is continuing to shoot for the stars.

Additionally, action-crime thriller starring Mansha Pasha and Ahmed Ali Akbar Laal Kabootar is also gearing up to premiere at Singapore South Asian Film Festival right before DCSAFF.

All films will have English subtitles. Attendees will get a chance to meet prominent actors and high achievers in post-screening discussions, workshops and opening night red carpet gala.

Unapologetic and fierce: The new face of Mahira Khan

KARACHI: Mahira Khan has always been too cautious. She has always been wary of how she presents herself to the media and public. In fact, she is known to weigh her words before voicing them. Her vigilant personality has always been a part of her persona. However, after working in the industry for almost a decade now and being the centre of numerous uncalled for controversies, Khan feels it’s high time she came out of her shell.

I sat with her ahead of the release of her then upcoming film, Superstar. During our conversation, Khan divulged details on why she decided to address the Firdous Jamal controversy that made headlines, a little over a month ago.

“I thought it was time,” she told The Express Tribune. “I have never made public statements about any controversy or fake news I’ve been made a part of. I’ve never addressed it, it’s just something I don’t do.

My personal life is nobody’s business,” Khan added. “You can write about it, talk about it, do whatever you want about it. But I’m never going to talk about it because it’s mine. The day I wish to speak about it, I will.”

So, why did she decide to speak about the much-discussed Firdous Jamal controversy? “I think it just happened. I think the support overwhelmed me. There were fans and my industry colleagues who stood so strongly for me, that I felt I owed it to them to say something about it,” stated the Raees actor. “And this has happened before as well. However, this time it was on a professional level.”

Khan is aware of the fact that this is not the first time someone from within the industry has taken a dig at her or her career. “Even now, I thought it wasn’t something serious. But when people come out in support of you – people who aren’t your friends – who are just your peers, or your contemporaries – I just wanted to do it,” she continued. “I just never discussed anything before I held my ink pen and found myself a paper and I just wrote and wrote.”

There were three things Khan wanted to highlight in her letter. Firstly, she wanted to thank everyone who came out in her support. Secondly, she unapologetically wanted to say that she will do as she pleases and what she thinks is right. Thirdly, she wanted to urge people to stop picking on each other.

 “We need to stop it. Enough!” Khan mentioned. “Every time I open my Instagram, I see one actor taking a dig at another. Why not focus on our work instead of just pulling each other down? Why call someone out on national television or publicly? Why is that even necessary?” The Verna star then added she wanted to pen her thoughts down because she wanted the note to stay with her forever. And, with her fans too.

“Twenty years down the line, I want this one letter to stay with me. I want my kid to see this. And if someone wants to see this and can relate to it on some level, I hope they find it,” she went on. As we wrapped up the interview and she dispersed into the crowd, that had been anxiously awaiting to catch a glimpse of her, I saw a new Mahira Khan. The fierce and unapologetic one. She has finally arrived.

Fourth title of Sheheryar Munawar had very high stakes and Parey Hut Love released this Eid ul Azha. The film has collected around PKR 175 million till now making it the highest grossing film for Sheheryar Munwar and beating Ho Mann Jahaan.

Even though Parey Hut Love has seen steep falls post its first seven days extended weekend but the trending in second week indicates that Parey Hut Love will cruise past PKR 200 million mark before the end of the run making it first film for Sheheryar Munawar to hit PKR 200 million.

Court Finds Mohsin Abbas Guilty of Threatening His Wife Fatima Sohail

According to local media report, the actor was found guilty of threatening his wife but has been found innocent in breach of trust and demanding money from his wife.

Both the parties presented their side of the story during the court hearing on Wednesday. The court has also ordered them to come up with their final argument with evidences in next hearing.

Haider said that he was disappointed with the film and media fraternity for ‘believing a crying woman’. “I hope people who have caused me so much stress to come out and say what they have to say now,” said Haider.

He revealed that Shamoon Abbasi will play the character of the Indian pilot who seems lookalike of Abhinandan too and the movie will be released before kaaf kangna , kaaf kangna was expected to be released on October 2019 and now we all are confused when it is going to be released.

Well the movie "Come on Abhinandan" will be a complete comedy dig on the devastation of Indian airstrike on 27th of February 2019, as it is the big need of hour to show the world successful operation by our Air Force.

Hamza Ali Abbasi, Naimal Khawar Khan tie the knot

It’s official. Photos have been released of actor Hamza Ali Abbasi’s nikkah ceremony with Aana star Naimal Khawar.

Images show the duo signing the contract and holding hands as they become husband and wife. Khawar seemed to be quite the glowing bride and is seen wearing a dull gold traditional ensemble.

Abbasi, on the other hand, kept it simple in a plain white shalwar kameez set. Family and friends are also seen making dua for the couple as they surround the newlyweds.

After confirming rumours that he is set to marry recently, Hamza spoke on the matter, adding that the two of them are inseparable. In a statement released on Wednesday, Abbasi said that Khawar and him would be having a nikkah on August 25, followed by a valima reception the day after.

“We can’t breathe without each other now,” the actor wrote in the statement, confirming the marriage. He added that they were looking forward to a lifetime of happiness and making efforts to please Allah together.

Abbasi was also called out on social media this week for his explanation of a ‘platonic relationship’, stating that the relation he shared with his now-wife before nikah. “It means love or affection in a bond without any sexual element in it. I realised the right way to find love,” the Mann Mayal actor said.

He added how there are two ways people go about looking for love. According to Abbasi, the ‘popular gora culture’ of relationship comprises of “anyone hitting their late teens, starting to go out with people, have a series of emotional attachments and heartbreaks, do everything haram with them and if lucky, they will find ‘the one’ soon, before they are emotionally and physically wrecked.’

He added that people in such relationships only “do the paperwork just to make it legal.”

The film had very strong first four days business due to Eid holidays over the Monday to Thursday period. Eid holidays were followed by Friday to Sunday weekend and film had decent numbers over the weekend too.

As per early estimates, Heer Maan Ja has closed 11 days long extended weekend around PKR 58 million. The film had seen massive fall on the weekdays. 11 days gross is quite decent for a film like Heer Maan Ja and if it manages to see superb growths over the coming weekend then it will be back in game.

Superstar Extended Week One Boxoffice Collections Pakistan

Mahira Khan and Bilal Ashraf starrer Superstar has roped in massive numbers during its 11 days extended week. However the film had the push of Eid that drew in huge footfalls during its first 4 days. But the film couldn’t show pick over the period of Friday to Sunday followed by huge fall over the weekdays.

So far the film has raked a whooping total of PKR 150 million as per estimates at Pakistani box office in extended first week of eleven days. The huge influx of Eid footfalls in first four days had indicated that the seven days extended weekend alone should have gone around PKR 150 million but here 11 days business has reached that mark.

Furthermore, trending on weekdays was way below the mark as weekdays have contributed around PKR 18 million which is a very low number. Last year Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2 had done 18 million on the first weekday alone. The film has big budgets involved and it will need to show ample growth on second Friday followed by hefty growth on Saturday and Sunday to get back in the game.

Nevertheless, Superstar has already become the second highest grosser of Mahira Khan in just eleven days. With the on going trend the film will become the highest grosser for the star during coming weekend.

Sheheryar Munawar and Maya Ali starrer Parey Hut Love has closed its 11 days extended week on a solid note. The film had taken stupendous start over the four days of Eid by raking in massive numbers. Eid holidays were followed by normal weekend and film managed decent collections over the weekend too. The film however saw steep falls on weekdays.

Parey Hut Love has closed its 11 days extended weekend around PKR 150 million as per estimates. Its a very strong number overall but the film could have done much better. The film had gotten massive boost over the first four days and if it had trended normally from there then 150 million should have come in first seven days alone. Furthermore, falls on weekdays were hefty.

Parey Hut Love has still come out with a very big number thanks to four Eid days and it will be a tough road from here on as fall on weekdays indicate that film will struggle in coming days. There are very heavy costs involved with Parey Hut Love and film will need to see massive picks over the coming weekend to be back in game.

The film has already become second highest grossing film for Sheheryar Munawar and it will be becoming his highest grosser till date over the weekend.

Heer Maan Ja 10 Days Boxoffice Collections Pakistan

Ali Rehman Khan and Hareem Farooq starrer Heer Maan Ja does decent business in its first ten days at domestic boxoffice. The film was facing stiff competition from Superstar and Parey Hut Love. Even Hobbs and Shaw turned out to be a major threat in mass pockets.

Are Pakistani Films Rising? Pakistan has come a long way since it has started making movies. Some movies paved way for the Cinema growth and most significant ones were Na Maloom Afrad, Jawani Phir nhi ani and Karachi Sey Lahore when people really started to believe that we should go to the cinema, now from those movies up till now we got gradual up-gradation in Frames, Cinematography, Actors get ups, and set ups but one thing is continued to be neglected is Screenplay where Bollywood once used to make trash screenplays and cringe worthy content but had changed their game of Screenplays completely, we need that excellence of our dramas scripts and excellence of Hollywood screenplays , which Bollywood strove for.

People who recently visited cinema for the latest three films said that everything was perfect, they perfectly played with colour pallets in the picture, the frames were perfect, the locations were breathtakingly beautiful and the setups were huge the get ups were stunningly beautiful but what do film makers expect from us to keep our brains at home? Some of the Cinema goers said that, you manage to produce high-quality dramas with strong content but you cannot simply produce one good movie a year in terms of content.

They say if we can make good dramas, good films may also be produced, dont make films in hassle make them with brain. Paray Hut Love and Superstar were perfect minus the screen play says public but why did they gross well people want to see cinema and if our producers are of the view that bollywood movies should remain banned forever they must try to make good films, this year viewers missed both Humayun Saeed and Nabeel Qureshi's films, they come up with all the essentials or if they dont have that, they don't even come.

They should take a bow at least they don't fool public, so far it happened. To criticize constructively doesn't mean we are haters, or blogging is just done out of hate, No it is not like that criticism means to tell them to fix the problems to grow well as Hareem did it after parchi which was a disaster, she came up with Heer Maan Ja, which is for sure way better than previous one.

Well Khalil ul Rehman Qamar's movie Kaaf kangna is releasing in October, the cast includes Sami Khan, Ishal and Neelum Munir and we have high expectations in terms of Screenplay. Humayun Saeed has also hired Khalil ul Rehman and Vasay Chauhdary for his upcoming film. Nabeel Qureshi also tweeted to fans that soon our new project will be revealed.

The Audiences crave for the good script even if the production is low at quality, great examples are Siyaah, Shah, Motorcycle Girl, Laal Kabootar. Na Maloom Afraad and Karachi Sey Lahore they were not extravagant with budget. We urge producers to please hire professional writers for films not just some new people who experiment with them at least hire the drama writers.

We really want to see cinema growing but with grace we don't want it to be taken over by foolish minds as once it was taken over by gandaasa culture.

Superstar 9 Days Boxoffice Collections Pakistan

Mahira Khan and Bilal Ashraf starrer Superstar has seen pretty decent hold over the weekdays. The film had done huge business over the seven days extended weekend and numbers on weekdays has seen falls but that was expected as film was coming off a seven days long weekend.

As per estimates, Superstar roped in PKR 6 million on Monday and over 6.5 million on Tuesday which has taken nine days gross around PKR 145 million. The fall on Monday was around 60% from Friday which is a bit more than normal but that was kind of expected as the film was coming off a strong 7 day long weekend.

Below is Superstar’s estimated boxoffice breakdown till now in Pakistan.

Superstar will be hitting PKR 150 million mark today and over the coming weekend it will become highest grossing film for both Mahira Khan and Bilal Ashraf. The film will need to hold to these levels over the weekdays and then show big growth coming weekend.

Parey Hut Love 7 Days Boxoffice Collections Pakistan

Sheheryar Munawar and Maya Ali starrer Parey Hut Love has done quite well in its seven days long extended weekend. The film released on Monday which gave it a seven days weekend having many holidays. Monday to Thursday period were Eid holidays and film did extra ordinary business till Thursday. Eid holidays were followed by a normal Friday to Sunday weekend.

Parey Hut Love has raked in little under PKR 120 million in seven days long weekend. The film saw excellent trending till Thursday but trending after that is not upto the mark. The film couldn’t see any growth on Saturday and Sunday. Parey Hut Love’s opening seven days are very solid but only concern is trending on Friday to Sunday. After business till Thursday the film had chances of hitting 140 million mark in seven days but film has fallen around 15-20% short of that.

Parey Hut Love has already become second highest grossing film for Sheheryar Munawar in just seven days and in next few days the film will become highest grossing film for Sheheryar Munawar.

Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar Talks about 'Kaaf Kangana' and Current India-Pakistan Tensions

Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar’s upcoming cross-border romantic drama Kaaf Kangana will be making way to the theater screens on October, just as regional tensions between India and Pakistan have boiled over India’s unilateral revocation of Ocuppied Jammu and Kashmir’s autonomy.

The film, as many know, will mark the Punjab Nahi Jaungi scriptwriter’s foray into filmmaking featuring a storyline that depicts a powerful romantic drama between leads Sami Khan and Eshal Fayyaz, with the tantalizing tagline ‘An intense but incomplete love story of 1947 that will be completed in 2019’ underlining its cross-border theme and piquing the audience’s curiosity all the more. HIP spoke exclusively with Khalil sahib about the current tensions and what they mean for Kaaf Kangana. “The film is all the more timely and relevant given the current state of affairs between India and Pakistan,” he noted, adding “You have bear in mind that I am first and foremost a patriot, and I am all the more sensitive to the nuances of regional politics and tensions.”

Given the creative powerhouse that he is, we could not help wonder if the renowned writer had used his wizardry over language to channel the sentiments around the ongoing crisis. “Indeed, I am not aloof from what is happening around me, especially in the current regional scenario. I have penned two poems which have been well-received over social media.”

The two poems are addressed to Prime ministers Imran Khan and Narendra Modi, and are Khalil sahib’s heartfelt words to the two influential leaders of the region in his trademark attention-grabbing style featuring lines such as “Par suno Modi Kashmir koi World Cup mein honey wala cricket ka match nahi ke hum jisse haar kar rolein” (But listen Modi, Kashmir is not like a world cup cricket match that we will cry after losing). They have garnered much praise over the social media from fans of the writer.

Aside from Kaaf Kangana, the renowned writer has also penned the script for the currently on air drama serial Mere Paas Tum ho, starring leading stars Humayun Saeed and Ayeza Khan. A movie script for Six Sigma productions in also in the works, with the current year shaping to be a rather eventful one for Khalil sahib. He is hopeful that the audience would appreciate the hard-work of his talented cast and crew as well as the underlying message of patriotism in Kaaf Kangana.

Aamir Liaquat wanted to be cast in 'Load Wedding': Fahad Mustafa

TV personality Aamir Liaquat Hussain knows how to remain in the headlines, even if it is mostly for controversial reasons. In March the talk show host claimed that he will drag Load Wedding actors Mehwish Hayat, Fahad Mustafa and directors Nabeel Qureshi and Fizza Ali Meerza to court for maligning his reputation through their film. On the contrary, Mustafa claimed in a recent interview that Hussain called him to say that he would have been pleased to play himself on the big screen, reported Express News.

“He himself called me and said if I would have offered him the role he would have loved to play that. It’s the same role regarding which he threatened to take us to court,” the actor shared. “Hussain also said how fun it would have been to work together.

It all started after Hussain called out Hayat after she slammed a publication for vilifying her image. “And should I not sue your movie Load Wedding where your entire movie revolves around me, defaming and wrongly portraying my character WITHOUT my consent? As an artist you did not only work in such a movie but you failed to stop the nonsense in it. Shameful!,” said Hussain.

Later on, when Hayat was awarded the prime Pakistani honour of Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, Hussain once again took to Twitter to clarify that he is still planning to take legal action against the film. “As an artist, you have failed to stop this mess and so, I should file a case against you,” Hussain had said. From Mustafa’s recent revelation it seems like the dust has settled between the makers of Load Wedding and Hussain but the TV personality has not confirmed or denied any such point of understanding.

Superstar Becomes Biggest Mahira Khan Opener at Boxoffice

Mahira Khan starrer Superstar is exceptional at the domestic boxoffice as film is doing stupendous business nationwide. The film had opened well on opening day and the collections reached bumper levels on the following days of the Eid. Even on Thursday Superstar has maintained optimum occupancies.

As per estimates, Superstar had collected over PKR 60 million in its first three days making it biggest opener of all time for Mahira Khan. Actress is easily the biggest boxoffice star currently and such massive start of Superstar further solidifies her status of boxoffice queen.

Earlier Mahira Khan starrer 7 Din Mohabbat In was released on Eid ul Fitr last year and had roped in PKR 54 million in first three days. Superstar has beaten that number with a very good margin.

Three years back Mahira Khan starrer Ho Mann Jahaan had roped in PKR 41.5 million in its opening Weekend. Superstar has beaten that number with a margin of around 50%.

Going at the trends till now Superstar will easily become highest grossing film for Mahira Khan before close of extended week.

Heer Maan Ja Four Days Boxoffice Collections

Hareem Farooq and Ali Rehman Khan starrer Heer Maan Ja has done really well during its first four days in the twin cities considering a very strong competition from Parey Hut Love and Superstar.

Heer Maan Ja got hit by Eid festivities on Day One in Rwp/Isl but saw excellent pick on Second and third days. The film has also held really well on its fourth day in Rwp/Isl.

As per estimates, Heer Maan Ja has collected around PKR 5 million from the twin cities.

Did our actors realize the importance of speaking up against the brutality, after getting a permanent Ban from India because we haven't seen them vocal against India.

Is the ban, a blessing in disguise for us? The answer is, yes because they used to be previously too much calculated with words and some of them even never spoke a word and even after ban Fawad Khan is still quiet, which he opts to remain for every issue and obviously it's his opinion but the good thing is our fraternity became one force which we were not seeing for years.

There were differences and there were categories of certain patriotic actors, who prefer working in pakistan and others with approach to work in india and we often experienced them bashing on each others in certain shows.

So right after the ban and when it became permanent our producers and actors started talking about expanding market from releasing the projects worldwide and it started happening.

Talking to international media, Mahira khan, Bilal Ashraf and Sheheryar Munawar said its the right time our international audience wants to connect to us and expanding film to the worldwide audiences was inevitable for us to do.

The producers are geared up for new projects as we have seen Humayun Saeed back in the game, where he announced his two of the new scripts and for sure we want out film industry to rise and shine and we must support it, at least to go once and watch it then pass the verdict.

Sheheryar Munawar and Maya Ali starrer Superstar has wrapped its first weekend in Overseas on Sunday. The film got hit by pre-Eid on Friday and Saturday but Parey Hut Love saw huge picks on Sunday especially in UK.

As per estimates, Parey Hut Love has closed its opening weekend with a business of little over PKR 20 million from major Overseas markets i.e. North America, UK, Middle East and Australia. The numbers on Sunday were quite good and it will be down to how film performs over the weekdays. Opening weekend of Parey Hut Love is the biggest opening weekend in Overseas for Pakistani films this year.

The film also saw release at the multiple European countries but their numbers are not reported as yet. Below are the weekend closing figures of Parey Hut Love from the major overseas markets.

Superstar Opening Weekend Boxoffice Collections Overseas

Mahira Khan starrer Superstar has completed its opening weekend at the overseas markets on Sunday. The film had seen a pre-Eid release on Friday which had hit the business badly but Sunday saw huge gains especially in UK.

As per estimates, Superstar has concluded its opening weekend from major Overseas markets at little under PKR 20 million. Superstar saw huge pick in numbers on Sunday and now performance over the weekdays will be very crucial. Superstar will need to hold well over the weekdays at the major markets.

'Talash' Trailer: A Promising Thriller

The number of films releasing from Pakistan is increasing on a daily basis. Some do really well, Others...Not so much. It is amazing to see we have so much talent in our industry. So many young faces that are actually passionate about acting and taking the Industry forward. With many hits though is also coming to a string of flops. People are exlperimenting with different genres and getting creative with their projects.

Well, we have another movie coming out. 'Talash'. This film is produced by Zeekay films. They have made dramas in the past and this is their first. The cast also includes fresh faces with all the new talent.

Maybe that's what we need, only if given the chance to the newcomers we can gather a good team of talent. Talash has Mustafa Qureshi, Adnan Tipu, Noaman Sami, Faria Hassan, Ahmed Zeb, Salim Mairaj and Humaira Bano included in the cast.

It is also a good thing to focus on the social issues of the society, we feel that's more important than making a masala movie. The film is a social issue-based film and it will show the problem of malnutrition prevailing in our rural areas.

 The film is directed by Director Zeeshan Khan. That is his first direction. Well, we think it looks promising and we only hope it is. We wish the team best of luck for this project.

'Azaadi' To Have Its Tv Premiere this Eid

Starring Sonya Hussain and Moammar Rana, Azaadi is a patriotic movie that revolves around true love for the country. Produced under the banner of ARY Films, it takes up the theme of the struggle of Kashmiris for azadi or freedom. The film was released on June 16, 2018. The film title's "Iss parcham ke saaye talaay hum aik hain... "

We have good news for the patriotic fans of the country, or the actors. Azaadi is set to have it's Tv Premiere this Eid only on ARY Digital. Have some barbeque, have a meaty Eid along with your loved ones while binge watching our Pakistani movies.

Pakistan bans all Indian content post Kashmir tensions

KARACHI: Pakistan said on Thursday it would ban the screening of Indian films in the country’s cinemas, as tensions between the two countries rise over the contested Kashmir region.

 “No Indian cinema will be screened in any Pakistani cinema. Drama, films and Indian content of this kind will be completely banned in Pakistan,” Firdous Ashiq Awan, an adviser to Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan said in a tweet.

Awan, special assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan on Information and Broadcasting, shared this action was in retaliation to India’s abrogation of the Constitution’s Article 370, which gave special status to the state of Indian occupied Kashmir and allowed it to have a separate constitution, a state flag and autonomy over the internal administration.

She stressed the ban will lead to piracy in Pakistan. “There will be piracy. It’s not that people will not watch our films. It is just that officially the money will not come to India. Pirates will make hay while the sun shine,” Nahta added. This is not the first time Pakistan has banned Indian films. Apart from refusing release of various Indian films regularly on grounds of censorship, Pakistan has been refusing release of Indian films — particularly Bollywood products — almost every time the political atmosphere between the two nations becomes tense.

In recent times, Pakistan has banned various Hindi films owing to different reasons. While Raazi, Aiyyari, and Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran are among films to have been banned owing to politically objectionable content, Mulk was banned because the country’s censor board felt the film’s portrayal of Muslims in India was not right.

Talking to the media outside Parliament House on Thursday, Awan shared government was making various efforts to highlight the current Kashmir situation internationally. These include consultations at the United Nations by Pakistan’s Representative Maleeha Lodhi, and contacting heads of governments of other countries, besides diplomatic engagements. Besides films, every other Indian cultural content has also been banned in the country.

Veteran actor Shaan Shahid has never been afraid to speak his heart out and always been vocal about his feelings. He spoke from his heart and never held back without caring about criticism. Film-star is very much active on social media these days and has recently requested everyone from the film industry and sports community to stand together. Shahid feels that arts, sports and culture should come together because they are not provided with the required facilities in the country. Star has also urged everyone to support this cause.

Taking to Twitter, Shaan once again restated his forgive and forget mantra and encouraged people to move on from the Mahira Khan-Firdous Jamal controversy. In the light of this matter, Shaan Shahid has started a Hashtag #letsbringoutprideback and he has been posting about those artists and sportsmen who he feels deserve the love and attention for their endless contribution to their respective fields.

The Hashtag is indeed an applauding effort by Shahid to spread love and positivity as he tries to divert the attention on the people who deserve appreciation and acknowledgment. In one of his tweets, Shaan Shahid has also lent support to Firdous Jamal, who is under hot waters after his remarks against Mahira Khan. At first, the star supports both Mahira Khan and Firdous Jamal correspondingly but now he feels Firdous Jamal deserves respect for his work and contribution to the industry that he has done over the last 45 years.

With producer, Momina Duraid having announced that she would no longer hire Jamal in any of her future productions, a plea from Shaan to forgive and forget might actually help salvage the damage the veteran actor has caused for his prestige and career. Here’s hoping that Firdous Jamal doesn’t make unpleasant comments about junior colleagues in the future and that people actually learn the art of forgiving and forgetting.
